CLASS ANNOUNCEMENT: Please join me for this first time ever 4 day course which combines all the essential elements of understanding, contextualizing, diagnosing and treating Heart Shock (aka Trauma). This one of a kind course will span 4 days as follows:

Day 1 will present Heart Shock basics, diagnoses, strategies and treatments, as well as a Daoist perspective on the events and perceptions of trauma. The day will conclude with basic treatments with acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Day 2 will be devoted to pulse diagnosis. We will spend the day understanding (and practicing!) both Shen-Hammer and Classical (channel systems and directionality) approaches to pulse, including depths, major positions and predominant findings of Heart Shock / Trauma on the pulse, as well as its psychological manifestations.

Day 3 will be an exploration of Daoist medicine in the context of trauma. We will talk about zhuyou medicine and talismans, precepts, and importantly, the patient-practitioner relationship and creating narratives and a ritual space for exploring a negotiated diagnostic paradigm to unlock our patient’s illness. Special guest teacher, Josh Paynter will also join us!

Day 4 will be a culmination of this process, spent practicing and implementing all these methods into a coherent whole. Those attending will not just learn theory, but rather work together in this workshop to leave these 4 days with an entire process that they have already been practicing so that it can be confidently applied in clinic immediately following the course.

This course will take place at Dragon’s Landing ADK and is a perfect way to spend Earth Day weekend up in the pristine Adirondack Park!

Note 1: due to the nature of this material, class size will be limited.
