Consumer Access to Care Act: Lobbying 101
Suzanne Drake, PhD, APN, Grace Reilly, APN

Two months ago, the Consumer Access to Care Act (A-3512 and S-2354) was introduced in the NJ Senate and Assembly. These identical bills will remove the collaborative agreement requirement for APNs to prescribe medications and provide for global APN signature recognition on patient care forms. The Bills seek to increase consumer choice and streamline access to care for New Jersey residents without increasing APN scope of practice beyond their education and experience.

NJ APNs are urged to get involved in advocating for and lobbying to remove scope of practice barriers. But for many who have never been politically involved, this can seem intimidating. This one hour presentation will help you to feel more comfortable with the process and help you to join us in speaking with one voice to effectively deliver a consistent and cogent message.

2013 Psych CPT Coding UPDATE.
