    Part-time, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Req. 1812)

    • Caldwell University’s Counseling Center is currently seeking to fill a position for a part-time Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) who is ANCC certified in psychiatric mental health nursing.  This position works during the academic year, six hours a week for approximately 30 weeks.  This candidate would be reporting to the Executive Director of Counseling Services and would be responsible for providing psychotherapy, diagnostic, and pharmacologic treatment services to student patients.  

      The individual would be expected to: 

    • conduct on-going risk assessments (i.e. suicide, homicide, abuse, violence), as well as perform age-appropriate, full psychiatric evaluations.  
    • The candidate would plan and document pharmacologic strategies based on individualized needs and provide follow-up services as needed.  
    • The APN would provide clinical documentation on patients and produce reports and assessment information, as requested by the Executive Director.  
    • APN would provide consultation to clinical staff and interns regarding patient care issues, as well as conduct educational trainings for college staff, resident assistants, and students.  APN will review cases with the collaborating physician as needed, as well as communicate with the Director about cases during staff meetings.
    • Requirements

    • A master’s degree plus a current New Jersey APN license that includes prescriptive authority is required.  
    • At least three (3) years’ experience with patient diagnosis and psychotropic medication prescription and management working with older adolescents/young adults in a treatment setting, preferably a college counseling center or health center is also required.   
    • Must have appropriate training and experience in counseling and psychotherapy.  
    • A collaborative agreement with a psychiatrist will be required after the Public Health Emergency Waiver is repealed by the Governor
