    Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)

    VisionQuest is seeking to hire an APN to provide regulatory mandated oversight and services to its residential treatment programs for adolescents in Burlington County, New Jersey. The APN will be a medical professional who specializes in psychiatry and tends to the emotional and behavioral well being of youth by providing psychiatric support services,medication evaluations and medication management for residents requiring such supports. The APN is a member of the multidisciplinary team who provides supervision and trainings to therapists, and Nurses and trainings to other staff as needed, ensuring that youth residing in the program are receiving the most up to date evidence-based therapeutic treatment services. Responsibilities will include review of Individualized Treatment Plans and co-signing such reports, documentation of psychiatric services rendered, provision of crisis management to youth and determination if he or she is appropriate for acute psychiatric hospitalization as well as providing feedback to the Healthcare Department as deemed appropriate.

    Professional Duties:
     

    Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) will provide direct service on-site coverage to include evaluation and other psychiatric services to clients;
    • Provide initial evaluations, consultations, and on-going medication management;
    • Participate in medical administrative functions including utilization review, quality assurance and patient safety.
    • The Advanced Practice Nurse will work with staff to embrace VisionQuest’s mission and philosophy and assure that the psychiatric services provided by the program meet the accepted standards of regulatory bodies within the State of New Jersey;
    • Maintain adequate and proper clinical- records with respect to all professional services rendered and observe all state and federal statutes, regulations and  VisionQuest’s policies and procedures regarding electronic communication and confidentiality of such records.

    Qualifications:

    • Candidate must possess a current and valid license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey specifically in the Psychiatric/Mental Health field with Prescriptive Authority
    • Will have collaborating agreement with Psychiatrist as required. Psychiatrist to be provided by VisionQuest
    • At least one year of experience working with adolescents.
    • Must have a thorough knowledge of psychiatric assessment methods, evidence based treatments and the most current psychotropic medication interventions.
    • Must be able to produce well written strengths based psychiatric evaluations, comprehensive progress notes, have good verbal communication, time management and supervisory skills
