    Consultant in Psychiatry (part-time)

    The Consultant in Psychiatry at Seton Hall University provides psychiatric evaluations and treatment

    and works as a member of a collaborative team in a university counseling center providing services to

    enhance emotional development and to reduce symptoms of mental illness in university students.

    *Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provides psychiatric evaluations and treatment, mental health education and referrals to

    students.

    • Maintains confidential records of patient care.

    • Provides consultation to Counseling and Psychological Services professional staff as well as

    graduate student trainees on a regular basis

    • Develops and provides occasional presentations for the professional development of

    department staff and trainees

    • Provides psychiatric care in compliance with the highest ethical and professional standards

    • Provides services in keeping with the University’s philosophies and Catholic mission

    *Required Qualifications

    • Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing or Medical degree

    • Board certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing or in Psychiatry; DEA number.

    • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills

    • Sufficient computer skills to master electronic record keeping and scheduling system

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    *Desired Qualifications

    • Prior clinical experience working with a college-aged patient population

    *Standard Work Hours per Week: 10 hours - September through May
