PSYCHIATRIC APN - Camden
Full-time with on call
CFG Health Systems is a leader in correctional health care services, headquartered in Marlton, New Jersey. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated APN to make an impact on our patients’ lives in Camden.
In collaboration with the physician, the Psychiatric APN is responsible for providing medical services which are consistent with community standards of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations to patients.
- Conduct routine pharmacological management and evaluation.
- Collaborate and consult with psychiatrists consistent with Center for Family Guidance, PC practice standards and collaborative agreements.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Write orders for medical medications and treatments, under guidelines of licensure.
- Dictate discharge summaries and transfer orders.
- Participate in case management, as scheduled.
- Maintains and follow patient care protocols.
- Work with members of the healthcare team in educating the patients of their medical care.
- Participate in designated hospital committee meetings and in-services (as needed).
- Serve as expert nurse consultant and educator for CFG and its client.
- Provide coverage for 12 Weekends (5pm, Friday through 8am, Mon) per year for On-Call Coverage to one of CFG’s Contracted Hospital Systems providing inpatient/consult service coverage.
- Provide coverage for 2 holidays per year as observed by Employer (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day) at one of CFG’s contracted Hospital Systems.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation as determined by the facility in which the APN is providing services.
- Continually update clinical knowledge and skills through consultation, formal and informal education and review of literature for the benefit of themselves as well as for the healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Requires a Master’s Degree
- Must have current and valid New Jersey RN license and APN Certification
- Must have PMHNP Certification
- At least one year experience of providing direct patient care.
- Must have prescriptive authority.
- Valid New Jersey CDS and DEA registration
