Psych APN - Child and Adolescent – Trenton

CFG Health Network has an opening for a Psych APN in Trenton, NJ to work with children and adolescents. Responsibilities

• An integral member of the healthcare team, coordinate patient care and communicates and collaborate extensively with the other members of the healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family/guardian.
• Maintain and demonstrate high standards of professional ethics.
• Provide patient and family education relative to nursing/medical and clinical services.
• Consult with medical specialists associated with patient’s current treatment and/or treatment history.
• Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment to patients admitted to the program.
• Perform nursing histories and physical assessments.
• Facilitate patient and families in meeting their psychosocial needs.
• Provide medication evaluations and management in collaboration with the program’s Medical Director/Psychiatrist.
• Administer medication to patients as prescribed.
• Annual certification in the Handle with Care behavior management system.

Qualifications

• Requires a Master’s Degree 
• Must have current RN license and valid Advanced Practice certification.
• Certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
• Must have State of NJ prescriptive authority or be able to obtain.
• Have a thorough understanding of use of psychotropic medications.
• Shall be involved in continuing education activities to further his/her own professional development.
